Engage in Income Generating Projects

A SUCCESSFUL PERSON IS ONE WHO CAN LAY A FIRM FOUNDATON WITH THE BRICKS THAT OTHES THROW AT HIM/HER. David Brinkley

 PIGGERY FARMING

The piggery Project supports a free and self-sufficient population in the rural villages of Uganda helping poor families to create self-sustaining piggery farms. This project is targeting to serve 1000 families during its project life cycle; thus distributing about 2000 pigs. Each pig helps to keep a needy family from hunger and poverty. The project is a fighting tool for poverty in rural areas or villages. Families that have been living in absolute poverty have started benefiting from the project.

A family which could not have a pig due to religious or cultural beliefs and customs recieves a goat or a sheep and when it deliver or gives birth to an offspring, he/she will give out the offspring to another family. Small scale piggery farms in rural communities are making a difference in the lives of people especially the women, but the need is still big. We still need assistance to fund the project and so many families are on our list waiting to recieve the pigs, sheep & goats. Your charitable donation of $ 25 will buy a pig to a poor family and you will have built hope to such poverty stricken areas of Uganda to have hope for economic sustainability in the future.

PROJECT BACKGROUND:Uganda is one of the poorest countries of the world which is highly affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, unemployment, corruption and illiteracy. The effects of these problems are numerous until today and there is no clear arrangement by the government to rehabilitate poor communities. Though the government is trying to rehabilitate rural communities through the NAADS, but the need is still big. It has been estimated that the per capita income of an average Ugandan is UG Shs. 1500 equivalent to $ 1. Upon this background Living Hope Uganda was established to work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders, NGOs and donor communities to create income generating projects for the poor famlies.
